Shark Teeth

Both CE and Z had a set of shark teeth to begin their interactions with the tooth fairy. Shark teeth are when permanent teeth come in behind the baby teeth and the baby teeth, as a result don't get loose and fall out. Because nothing is getting loose or falling out without professional intervention, my children have never been the one to lose their first tooth in school, or to be the first to lose a tooth.

CW's turn at this whole childhood milestone arrived and true to Fears family form, two shark teeth began to peek through the wrong place in his mouth. Shortly after school let out for our two week "summer", we made our semi-annual trek to the dentist, having scheduled in some extra tooth extraction time. This was our result:

I have never seen a kid more excited to have a dentist pull teeth in my life! I guess he was willing to take this important milestone however he could get it.

H is still patiently waiting to lose his first tooth. S lost her first in kindergarten, but of course, she was older. So poor H thinks he's behind or something.

A tooth funny: the other day, S asked me when she was going to lose more teeth. I explained that she had lost most of the teeth she would for a while, because molars come out later, etc. She sighed and said, "But I'm really in the mood to lose a tooth." :)
