"Discovering" new friends

I got an email a bit ago from an old missionary friend, hoping our families could meet up when he rolled into the desert with his vacationing family. What resulted was a fun time at the Discovery Children's Museum during the day and a swim at home for dinner with some new friends--they have kids that are the right ages and genders for almost all my kids (which is not always easy to find in one family) The result was hog heaven for us. It's such fun to find new friends, and what a great way to inaugurate the short summer break.

The wind tunnel--fun within and without (note Bam's voluntary presence inside the wind tunnel--I guess the wind is no longer scary. Silly mom, what was I thinking?


A new take on the idea of pulling your own weight (seats that raised and lowered with ropes and pulleys)--Z proved his strength with this one!


M's great love of all balls (air propelled balls through chutes, etc) made this exhibit particularly attractive at various times of the days (she's not very good at sharing though)


You can never have too many flotation devices in the hot tub:
