Bam did NOT want to go to church today. He kept crying and begging for play clothes. I dressed his squirmy 3 yr old body and he would wriggle out of his clothes as quickly as I could wrestle him into them. He had had enough of his short career as a Sunbeam, due in part because of the 2 week stay in Grandma's ward. But truth be told, he was never totally settled with the idea of nursery and would tell me each week that he hated to go to class. So, the fact that I was teaching Sunday school and DH needed, of course, to be bishoply, had me a little concerned as to how the Primary hour hand-off would go when the time came.
And then the miracle arrived. My friend came up right after Sacrament Mtg ended, during that little interlude of postlude music when the bishopric asks us to let the teachers go prepare their classrooms instead of racing them out the door. She asked Bam if he would walk with her to Primary (she teaches another class). And he did--without a whimper, a concern, nothing but a smile on his face. And when church was over, he came bouncing out of his class with "I like my class! It just got so fun!" I thanked my friend and she told me how well he had gone into Primary and then his class and she offered to take him every week. This is the perfect solution to a problem I thought I would just have to endure until Bam decided to outgrow his iffiness about Sunbeams. This makes the endurance event that is Sunday worship service for "the bishop's family" just a little bit easier, a little less of me feeling like a pitiable event right there in the halls of the church and more of me feeling like maybe I really can make it through the meetings with a genuine smile on my face and hopefully feel the Spirit. And the answer was so perfect I would never have even known to ask for it, either of this friend or of the Lord. But He knew and my friend just did it, probably without even thinking she was an angel for me. I've got to figure out how to get more answers like these!

It's so wonderful how Heavenly Father answers our prayers, sometimes even before we really offer up a "Help!"
Hey I recognize that hat and glasses!! So glad Bam is liking Sunbeams better!
