The Divine Miss M (and some friends)

My sister has been complaining again. And with good reason, I have unfortunately allowed the niggly little details of keeping the roof on the house and the children down from the rafters keep me from my bloggerly duties, well at least as this sister sees those "duties". So, I decided to give you a post devoted entirely to our littlest Fears: Miss M in some of her glory:

She is a very um strong willed child. And she has a lot to say. If there were a sound track with this picture, you would understand because that smile/grimace accompanies a huge yell. She was yelling into the tunnel of a jungle gym near my parents' house and I think she was pretty interested in the echo, because she yelled for a good long time.

In some parts of the country, people begin to go outside to enjoy the beautiful weather once summer hits. Well, in the desert where we live, fall is the time of year where everyone tumbles out of their air conditioned caves into the beautiful cool weather. The kids have been enjoying time in the backyard and "teaching" M to ride (aka sit) on a baby big wheel. Despite the lack of actual motion, she gets quite a kick out of the adventure. And the sibs enjoy their part in the fun.

And then we have the ugly underbelly of fall: things move back and forth between soothing cool weather and actual chilly stuff. Now mind you, we do live in the Mohave Desert, so "chilly" in the world of my children is defined as anything south of 60 and if you venture anywhere below 55, you're in certain Arctic territory. I know, they are warped by their surroundings. Their blood has thinned and they are true desert babies and I as their transplanted desert mother would not know how to dress them for actual cold winter conditions if my life depended upon it. Thankfully, we don't have to worry about it right now.

Nearly every time I go to get M from a nap, this is the scene that greets me. My very own pint-sized jailbird plaintively crying for freedom.

This concludes our tribute to the little bittiest of our brood. Perhaps next time, I will regale you with shots of Bam and his collection of Rescue Heroes, my collection of messy faces or something with no pictures at all (we know my sister will not be impressed if there are no pictures!)

Hi Angie - it's good to see a blog post from you! oh the joys & adventures of the mother of strong-willed children - I have four of them! I, like your sister, have a sister of my own who has ignored her bloggerly (I like that word you made up, Angie) duties and I need to do some complaining as well. I also agree that whenever humanly possible, pictures with a blog post are a must!

Ang-

We loved seeing you and Em this past weekend. I will have to post some cute pictures I took of her with my boys. They were quite taken with her and now if I mention any baby, C fights with me if I try to call that baby anything but baby M. For three days straight all he did was wonder around and ask to go to Grandma's house.
